In-Person Events

I run in-person events for a variety of organisations who want to run a social event or help teach life skills for their members. All events are designed in consultation with the provider to ensure they are suitable for the specific group of attendees. I am qualified in Level 3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering, can provide all necessary equipment and ingredients for the session, and will work with you to ensure that the proposed venue is suitable.
Cookery Classes
I facilitate cookery classes for groups of 6-14 people. During the session, I teach attendees how to make a specific recipe, walking through each step and answering questions. At the end of the session, we all sit down and eat the meal together.

The events are a great way to bring people together in a social setting and to help teach people about food and cooking. The classes don't need to involve drinking, so can be a great option for a non-alcohol based social event. I ran in-person classes with the University of Sheffield to help teach their new students about healthy, affordable cooking - read more about these sessions here.
Cooking Demonstrations
I also run cookery demonstrations for larger groups. I talk through and cook a specific dish to an audience, talking them through each step and highlighting key techniques to improve cooking ability. The choice of dish and presentation style is discussed with the provider in advance, to ensure it is suitable for the audience. Delegates are then given a physical or virtual copy of a recipe card (see example below) of the dish to allow them to recreate the dish themselves.

These sessions are great for providing inspiration on how to cook new recipes, often focussed around a theme. This could include cost-effective cooking, vegetarian/vegan cooking for Veganuary, healthy/nutritious meals, or something else. I ran cookery demonstrations with the University of Liverpool themed around affordable cooking, amid the cost of living crisis - click here to find out more about these sessions.
